“Water District #1 and associated extensions 1,& 2 consisting of following infrastructure :
5,250 lineal feet of 16” diameter main, a redundant water supply interconnection with the Saratoga County Water Authority
5,600 lineal feet of 12” diameter main and
16,500 lineal feet of 8” diameter distribution main,
Associated service connections and hydrant valves and appurtenances to provide potable domestic water and fire flow water service in the Town of Moreau, Saratoga County, New York.
300,000 Gallon Elevated water tank proposed in existing industrial park on Town owned parcel.
The project area encompasses five areas that consist of primarily developed residential parcels. The existing areas are shown on District Maps (links above). The project areas and scope of work is as follows:
Fortsville Road Extension
This portion of the project extends water service to a newly identified public water supply and alleviates problems for this water supply that has been deemed a groundwater under direct influence. The water system is shoreline well with no filtration only chlorination. The system is not performing well and there are distribution problems, and on occasion water runs out for the residents served.
English Village Extension
This project portion would serve residents of the English Village Housing Development and a single residential dwelling along the route to the housing development. This area is bound by Water District #6, Saratoga County forestlands, and Interstate 87.
RT32 Reservoir Rd to Bluebird Road
This 12’ Diameter mainline completes looping of some existing water mains in the Town and increases system fire flow capacity with advent of the looping.
RT32 Services Adjacent to WD#6
The portion of the project consists of lateral connections to residents that are located across the street from a newly installed main installed as part of Water District #6.
Existing Water District #1 Interconnection
This portion of the project consists of the removal of the existing water district from the Village of South Glens Falls supply, and connects to the existing nearby Town distribution system and consequently will be served water from the same source as the existing Town of Moreau water districts. The Village of South Glens Falls will no longer serve water to the area.
300,000 Gallon Elevated Water Storage Tank
An elevated water storage tank is proposed in the Town of Moreau industrial park to meet the need for average daily water storage and to enhance fire fighting in the District #1 vicinity as well as meet the fire flow demands typical to an industrial park.
Saratoga County Water District Interconnection
This consists of a direction drill under Interstate 87 and extension of a 16” main to the Saratoga County Water Authority.
